Grooming with Purpose: Intro & Head

Learn what Grooming with purpose is all about in this short series. I’ll show you by starting on the head. The muscles in the head are used for chewing, swallowing, blinking, moving the ears as well as facial expressions. There’s also muscles from the neck that have an impact on the horses tongue and jaw movement, like the sternohyoid muscle or the sternomandibular muscle. Also, in the very back of the skull, on the mastoid process TMJ area, there are muscles like the brachiocephalicus and the splenius that have attachments here.
